Let's talk about New Jersey and
the
coastal trash that lives there.
One of the most competitive races in
November will be in New Jersey's 7th
congressional district. So let's see who
each party has now chosen as their
champion. With Republicans fighting to
maintain their razor-thin House majority
in the midterm elections, one of the
most competitive contests is brewing in
the New Jersey battleground district.
Democrats choosing former Navy
helicopter pilot Rebecca Bennett to take
on Republican incumbent Tom Kean.
Well, that race is over. Um
a vibrant young helicopter pilot versus
a guy who looks like a ghost that's just
seen a ghost.
Seriously that
Seriously, that's the best photo you can
get of this guy?
The one where he's in the middle of
saying, "Hey, tell me when you're going
to take a picture."
Obviously, I'm being unfair. It doesn't
matter if Tom Kean looks like he just
walked in on himself masturbating. What
matters
is that he shows up for his constituents
every single
day.
>>
The 57-year-old has been absent from his
job for over 2 months now, not casting
votes on Capitol Hill, no constituent
events, and also not seen in any video
statements.
>>
2 months?
Not voting? No events?
2 months? Maybe we should be looking for
him? I don't
I know we all silenced our Amber Alerts,
but maybe we should turn those back on.
I
How does a congressman just disappear
for 2 months? Surely people would notice
if he just dropped out of the public
eye. And it's not like his office has
been trying to cover up for him, right?
Right?
>>
Kean's office projecting business as
usual, blasting out an email with a
photo of the congressman and police
officers that appears to be from 2 years
ago.
>>
That photo is so old those New Jersey
cops could have already finished their
sentences for taking bribes. But look,
OKAY. OKAY.
THERE'S GOING TO BE MORE OF THOSE TYPES
OF JOKES. SO, UH
BUT LOOK, everyone deserves privacy. As
long as his colleagues in Congress know
exactly why he's out and when he'll
return.
>>
Not even the speaker of the house seems
to know exactly why he's out or when
he'll return.
>>
He said he was, you know, out on a
medical issue and he'll be back as soon
as possible.
>>
disclose Did he disclose what the issue
is?
>>
the full extent of what I know about it.
>>
Wait, oh my god, is he okay?
I mean, I know he lives in New Jersey,
so we all know he's mentally ill, BUT
PHYSICALLY?
THIS
LOOK,
THIS IS SO MYSTERIOUS. Even if he's
holed up in a sanitarium somewhere,
someone must have seen him. How is it we
have more photos of Bigfoot
than Tom Kean?
>>
His office telling the New York Times
there's no cameras where Tom is.
>>
Okay, that's a little odd.
But to be fair, if this is how photos of
me came out, I'd also want to be where
there's no cameras.
He looks like the doctor just told him
it's going to take all five fingers to
examine his prostate.
That's okay. Yeah.
Look, whatever's going on with this guy,
he's got to be making people a little
bit nervous. I mean, at this point,
you've got to be an absolute to
give him a full-throated endorsement.
>>
President Trump Monday endorsed Keene
saying, "Quote, he will never let you
down."
>>
So true. Of all the congressmen who have
been missing for 2 months, he is the
most reliable.
He will never let you down. Just like my
backyard Thunderdome.
>>
OH, FAIR.
>>
THIS ELECTION SEASON IS ALL ABOUT THE
WORLD'S most annoying people using the
world's most annoying technology to
trick America's grandmothers. Like in
Vermont, the only state where it's legal
to marry a covered bridge.
Representative Becca Balint is running
for re-election and one of her
opponents, Mark Coester, reposted this
video.
>>
Straws are banned and if those farmers
don't like it, they can leave.
>>
We are taking Vermont back. I'm going to
slash taxes and tax away your powers.
Real people deserve a better life and
cheaper living. Nobody in Vermont
dresses like a French puppet.
>>
Help fight back against evil.
Help Vermont take out the trash.
>>
Vermont's for sale.
>>
Yeah.
Yeah, the people of Varmont are are sick
to death of those French puppets. I
mean, it feels like if you're going to
run for office, first thing to do is
learn to spell your home state.
Also, also, how dare you throw a woman
in the garbage? This is Varmont.
You compost her. Come on.
But, you want to make your opponent seem
really crazy, you got to kick it up a
notch. That's what happened to Texas
Democrat James Talarico, whose likeness
appeared in this not-so-subtle
AI-generated TV ad.
>>
Boys in white dresses with blue satin
sashes, girls dosed with hormones till
they grow moustaches, changing the
gender of all your offspring. These are
a few of my favorite
things.
>>
Wow.
>>
Transphobia has never sounded so
melodic. I mean, Ted Budd really hitting
the high C there. If politics don't work
out, I know a regional theater doing a
production of guys transitioning to
dolls, and believe me,
it is it's
as bad as you think it is. But, AI isn't
just for tearing down your opponents.
For candidates like Jay Collins and Mike
Rogers, it's also about making yourself
look tough.
WOW.
MAN, THAT IS RIGHT. THEY'RE NOT JUST
boring white guys. They are ripped
superheroes,
like Captain America or the Hulk or
business casual man.
Ready to fight crime with his three-way
stretched underease.
And if those images don't make sense to
you, don't worry. The candidates don't
seem to mind whether any of these AI ads
are coherent at all. Like this one,
reposted by one-time Louisiana Senate
candidate John Fleming.
>>
Some politicians leave footprints in the
sand.
Others leave flip-flops in the mud.
>>
Warning, excessive flip-flopping may
cause confusion, dizziness,
contradictory campaign messages, debate
avoidance.
>>
What is going ON WITH THOSE LEGS? IS HE
RUNNING AGAINST THE mayor of that beach
that makes you old?
Also, what do What does it mean some
politicians leave footprints in the
sand?
Everyone leaves footprints in the sand.
THAT THAT'S HOW SAND WORKS.
SOME POLITICIANS leave footprints in
sand, but not Julia Letlow. She's a
ghost.
Now, these ads were obviously made with
AI, but what's really risky is when you
try to slip it by people and you get
caught.
>>
And this is a picture posted by Duval
County School Board Candidate.
>>
And it depicts black people as
supporters. But this is the original
picture with Clarence James. It shows
him with two other people. Not that same
big group of people we just showed you.
>>
Come on. You don't NEED TO DO THAT,
CLARENCE. YOU HAD A PERFECTLY good
picture with two black friends. JUST
TAKE THE WIN.
ALSO, COME ON, MAN. You're running for
school board. You need like six votes.
And you're probably going to win the
black vote. Your name is Clarence James.
I literally thought you were a blues
singer.
I mean, lying about having black friends
is shameless. You know who would hate
this? My good friend Josh Johnson. I
mean, maybe even
maybe even my best friend. He would He
would definitely hate this.
And to prevent misleading photos like
that, some states have rules that
candidates do have to disclose when
they've used AI. And that's why Michigan
Senate Minority Leader Eric Nesbitt
included this to end his AI campaign ad.
>>
America was never great, bro.
>>
Michigan law requires me to tell you
that this video was generated completely
by artificial intelligence.
>>
REALLY? OH.
O- OKAY. THANK YOU. Thank Thank you.
Thank you for clarifying that the Statue
of Liberty did not, in fact, come to
life AND EAT THE MAYOR. THANK YOU.
OF OF THE REAL GIVEAWAY THAT this ad was
AI is they spelled Eric with an A.
That's That's ChatGPT if I've ever Wait,
what's that? What's What Oh, oh, that's
actually how he spells his name?
Eric with an A?
Apparently, that's how you spell it in
Varmont. Uh
Look.
LOOK.
HERE. YES.
IT'S EASY TO LAUGH AT THESE AI ADS, but
they could be a real threat to our
democracy. So, stay vigilant. Don't be
tricked, especially you, Nana.
That's right.
My grandmother is one of my many, many
black friends. So,
keep your eyes open, America.
The midterms are right around the
corner, and there are so many candidates
steeped in scandal that it's hard to
keep track of them all. So, let's plunge
into the A zone and break down a few of
these alleged controversies. First up,
Florida, where Republican T Brown is
running for Congress for the first time.
Or is she?
>>
T Brown is the Republican House nominee
in Florida's 24th congressional
district. Earlier this year, she was
also a Republican candidate for House in
Illinois's 11th district. And before
that, she was and still is under federal
felony indictment for wire fraud.
Weirdly, nobody seems to have connected
the T Brown running for Congress in
Florida with the Teodora Brown, who was
formerly running in Illinois. When I got
her on the phone yesterday, T Brown of
Florida denied being Teodora Brown of
Illinois, despite a long paper trail
connecting the two. Then she asked if I
was with the police.
>>
Yeah.
Nothing to see here. Nothing to see
here. Just a woman running for office in
two different states and asking everyone
around if her if she's a cop.
All of her campaign speeches are going
to be like, "To my supporters, which one
of you's wearing a wire?
I know there's a rat in this crowd.
One small piece of advice, Ms. Brown. If
you're looking to lay low, maybe don't
run for Congress.
Although, now I understand her campaign
slogan, "Just need to cool my heels for
a bit."
New York, baby. YEAH. WHERE DEMOCRAT
WHERE DEMOCRAT CHRIS Gallant is running
to represent New York's first
congressional district, and he's getting
his ass beaten.
But, not in the polls.
>>
These are newly surfaced photos of
Gallant, uh, modeling for a series of
BDSM images he took for a company called
Mr. S Leather.
>>
The photos included one advertising a
simple posture collar for $89.95.
>>
Ah, I see the scandal here. You can
charge more for a sex leash when you
call it a simple posture collar.
I mean, $89.95 for a collar? I wouldn't
pay that price even if my dominatrix
commanded me to.
I'm just joking, Madam Bethany. Please,
DON'T PUNISH ME.
BUT, IS BEING INTO BDSM EVEN REALLY A
SCANDAL? If you ask me, this only makes
Gallant more qualified. This guy is
going to make a great House Majority
Whip or House Majority nipple clamp.
Honestly, I'm just sorry Lindsey Graham
isn't alive to see him get elected.
I know, I miss him, too.
Moving on to my home state of Michigan,
where Republican House candidate Tom
Smith is in some trouble because his old
tweets were, uh, poquito picante.
>>
CNN uncovered some 13,000 of Republican
Thomas Smith's deleted social media
posts and reposts. They show a
years-long pattern of far-right
rhetoric, including birther-style
conspiracies, attacks on Muslim
Americans, and a call for treason
trials.
>>
The post came uh from the account under
the name Jarhead Salsa, which is the
name of a Flint-area salsa business that
Smith owns, and he repeatedly identified
himself
>>
Okay, uh first of all, I know this is
not the main scandal here, but who's
buying salsa from a guy named Tom Smith
from Flint?
If I'm buying salsa from someone, it's
going to be from a real Hispanic
entrepreneur, like this guy, Paul
Newman.
Or maybe it's Paul Newman.
No hablo. Also, this is the least
helpful salsa account of all time. Yeah,
yeah, yeah, you don't like Islam, you
hate Anthony Fauci. Do you sell queso or
not?
I'm going to a party at Chris Gallant's
house, and I need something creamy that
burns the skin.
That's it.
I knew this audience would love that
joke.
That said, at least we know Jarhead
Salsa's company values. I have no idea
how Tostitos feels about Muslims.
RELEASE THE TWEETS, MUCHACHOS.
>>
THE MEDIA has tried to make a meal of
Republicans' dissatisfaction with Donald
Trump.
>>
Republican revolt.
>>
Republicans are starting to hit the
panic button.
>>
The president's approval rating is at an
all-time low.
>>
Breaking ranks.
>>
Republicans distance themselves from
President Trump.
>>
Top Republicans break with President
Trump just weeks before the midterms.
>>
Openly breaking with the president over
the war in Iran.
>>
Openly?
Well, I guess if Trump
wasn't weakened, I mean,
would any Republican have the balls to
come out against the Iran war, like
Senator Husted of Ohio?
>>
Senator John Husted, up for re-election
in Ohio, told Politico tonight, quote,
"The war needs to come to an end as
quickly as possible so that we can lower
gas prices."
>>
There you go.
He is taking a stand. Now, obviously
many would prefer that an anti-war
position would come in the form of a
moral judgment about the shedding of
innocent blood and the folly of man's
desire
for conquest and not necessarily 554 FOR
REGULAR. WHAT THE F
BUT WE TAKE IT HERE AS WE CAN GET IT. SO
LONG AS SENATOR Husted of Ohio backs up
his stirring rhetoric with a yes vote to
end this reckless war of choice.
I take you now to the floor of the
United States Senate.
>>
Mr. Husted, Mr. Husted, no.
>>
You know, courage can take many forms.
Although that does not appear to be one
of the forms that it takes.
BUT THE POINT IS
IT'S JUST SAD, REALLY.
THE POINT IS HUSTED'S up for
re-election. His constituents hate this
war and chances are most of them don't
get C-SPAN.
Now, why in God's name
would we continue to fall for this? Why
are we constantly believing that there
are cracks in the MAGA fortress?
We do because that's what we are told
over and over again.
>>
Is MAGA cracking?
>>
New cracks emerge in the president's
armor.
>>
A crack in the Republican Party's blind
loyalty.
>>
The first big crack in the wall.
>>
His party is turning on him. His base is
fracturing.
>>
The dam is starting to break.
>>
If the dam breaks, there'll be a flood.
It's going to be a flood, right?
>>
A break in uh in the dam in the Trump
dam that it doesn't mean that you're
going to get a flood, but it means you
at least have a leak.
>>
But you told US THE THE ARMOR, THE
CRACKS, THE FLOOD, AND NOW IT'S IS THE
MEGA COALITION finally showing a small
wet spot on the front of its pants?
And the media's been doing this to us
for ever.
If it's not China and Iran, it was the
Epstein files.
>>
The Trump presidency as we have known it
is over.
>>
It is not.
>>
Facts are emerging among Republican
>>
over the government shutdown.
>>
Cracks in the Republican wall are
starting to show up.
>>
Exposing some cracks within the GOP.
>>
Starting to see some cracks emerge.
>>
Trump fever breaks and it's in the
process of breaking right now.
>>
That Trump fever seems to be breaking.
>>
I get the sense there might be the dam
breaking.
>>
Is that the same damn that's breaking
this year that was breaking THIS IS A
VERY TOUGH DAMN.
AND WE CAN KEEP GOING BACK even further
like when candidate Trump attacked John
McCain's military SERVICE IN 2015.
>>
I do think it's the beginning of the end
of the marriage between Donald Trump and
the REPUBLICAN PARTY.
>>
IT'S NOT.
HE'S STILL STANDING. YOU'RE NOT.
HE'S NOT DEAD. HE WAS JUST FIRED.
FOR GOD'S SAKES.
IT'S NOT THE END OF THE MARRIAGE BETWEEN
Trump and the Republican Party. It's the
beginning of the Republican Party's
current BDSM understanding of master and
AND THE MEDIA
THAT'S NOT PHOTOSHOPPED, BY THE WAY.
That is a real ele- That is a real
elephant.
You You what's weird about that? Can't
remember it's safe word.
>>
One reason Republicans are struggling is
that they aren't exactly fielding the
best candidates. For example, in the
Ohio governor's race, their nominee is
Vivek Ramaswamy, former presidential
candidate and guy with resting virgin
face.
His campaign really needs a lift, but
lifting doesn't seem to be his strong
suit.
There you go.
Good guy.
See, this is why you can't skip lifting
kids day at the gym.
Now, to be fair, this kid wasn't
helping. I mean, look. He went full dead
weight.
That's the move my kid makes when she
doesn't want to leave the playground,
and I don't want to drop her because I'm
a good dad, so typically I just leave
her there. But, this was
this was not what Vivek needed,
especially after the last time he tried
to show off his manliness.
>>
Ohio gubernatorial candidate Vivek
Ramaswamy has deleted a campaign video
after the internet mocked his baseball
swing.
>>
Here's 10 things I'm going to do for
Ohio. Slash your property taxes.
Abolish your state income tax.
>>
What are you laughing at?
He's He swings the bat like Jeter.
That's the name of my blind gay nephew.
Damn, that swing is bad. Please tell me
his father died young. At least that's
an excuse.
His father didn't die young. We
fact-checked it before the joke.
I mean, what a harsh way to find out
everyone on your staff hates the living
out of you. Hey, does this swing
look good? Yeah, definitely. That's how
all the pros do it.
